Forgiveness

An unforgiving spirit demonstrates that one has completely failed to grasp the forgiveness of God in his or her own life, even at the most basic level. Such a spirit is a complete contradiction to the character of God.
The implications of this should cause us to ask some serious questions about our spiritual condition:
• Can an unforgiving spirit and the Holy Spirit co-exist in the life of a person?
• In light of Jesus’ statement in Matthew 6:14-15, For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses, what does this mean in terms of my own forgiveness?
